WINTER WORKOUTS - GIRLS

We're starting winter workouts. For those of you at practice (sunday) I mentioned this.

They will be Monday and Thursday. (these days will remain the same sorry if it doesn't work for you)

However, timing wise we will be meeting to workout at 4:00 in the Lindbergh Center.
Arrive early enough to run a mile BEFORE 4:00. If that means coming at 3:30 then come then.

Todays workout went until 5:15ish. But there isn't a definite time for when they end. Probably around 5-5:30.

Girls Practice Nov. 25

Just so there's no confusion, the girls will still be having practice. Sara Gottlieb's dad, Ellis, has volunteered to supervise because Jeanine is unable to make it.

Minnesota High School Ultimate League Summer League Director
The Minnesota High School Ultimate League is searching for a person to run a newly-formed Youth Summer League in 2009. This will be the first year of the league and there will be many exciting challenges getting it off the ground. Minnesota High School Ultimate League is offering $1000 for the position for the season plus bonuses based on number of participants. This Summer League will be the feeder program for the Youth Club Ultimate Championship (YCC) teams representing Minnesota in August.



Position Responsibilities:
Recruit players under the age of 19 for the youth summer league
Obtain fields on which to play and practice
Recruit and hire coaches for each team
Oversee YCC Team Coordination
Coordinate and Schedule games during the summer league
Requirements and Skills:
UPA Level I or II Coach
Five years in the ultimate community
Previous youth sports coaching or involvement
Strong written and verbal communication skills

The Blog gets boring during the winter, so just like the great Carl Peaslee I am going to start posting trivia. Correct answers will be given one point, and at the end of the winter season I will add up all the points and award a prize to the winner.

St. Olaf - GIRLS Rescheduled, BOYS STILL ON

Girls -

We are going to find another date to go to St. Olaf because since it was switched to indoors we would have had to share the time with the boys and only get an hour. Also they weren't going to have as many girls as they thought. So we'll talk some more and try to find another time.

Olaf Update

Please make sure you thoroughly read the post. Because we are the ones driving down to St. Olaf we need to make sure we have ample room for the players that are trying out for varsity. Younger guns, if you would like, feel free to call me the night before. By then we will have figured out the car situation, and we will see if we have room for you guys to come. But as of now this is a boys varsity tryout event

What are we doing: Talking about goals for the year, tournaments, jerseys and other business items and then doing something fun. Board games anyone!?!
What to bring: Any snacks or drinks you would like to have. I'll get some pizza but if you are interested in anything else, bring it along. Ohh, and bring your favorite board game and a jersey logo idea.

*ST.OLAF UPDATE*

This weekend the St. Olaf Ultimate Team has offered us the opportunity to come down and scrimmage with them.

We have decided to make this the last phase of BOYS VARSITY TRYOUTS, so if you are 9-12 and have already showed interest, or want to come try out please do. But, this will be an event for the senior high boys.

SATURDAY SCHEDULE *Everyone*

10:15 - Meet at Lindbergh
10:30 - Leave Lindbergh *If you are not at lindbergh by this time, and have not contacted myself or Klane we will leave without you
11:30 - Arrive in Northfield
12:00 - 2:00 Scrimmage Olaf
2:00 - Grab some food (?)
3:30 (?) - Come home

We dont know exactly what time we will get home, but it shouldn't be too late.
