RECRUITING NEW PLAYERS

All players should be talking to any girls they know who might have any intrest in playing. Tell them about captain's practice~invite them to come with you just to check it out. WE NEED TO RECRUIT AT LEAST 6 NEW GIRLS IN ORDER TO HAVE A GIRLS TEAM THIS YEAR! It's up to everyone, girls and boys, to help make this happen...so, talk up the sport you love and generate some intrest among the girls as well as the guys!

First School Year Captain's Practice

Captains Practice #5: Back to School

Date: Wednesday September 1st

Time: 4pm-6pm

Place: Lions Park in Golden Valley

What to bring: white and dark shirt, more water than you think you need, cleats and a disc(if you have them), and at least one friend.

Captains Practice #4

Date: Sunday August 29th

Time: 12:00pm-2:15pm

Place: Lions Park in Golden Valley

Second Captains Practice

	Sunday August 22 at 1:00pm to 3:00 pm This is another practice for everyone to go to. It will be like the last one. Some throwing around, and a lot of scrimmaging. Same time and place on Sunday. Invite everyone you can so we can have even more people this time. Come to play or try it out. -Captains Eli, Bumsted, and Haley

FIRST CAPTAINS PRACTICE OF THE YEAR

Hey Hurtems and Future Hurtems,

We hope everyone had a relaxing summer but now it's time to get to work. We're starting the 2009-2010 season with the first captains practice Wednesday August 18th from 1pm-3pm at Lions Park in Golden Valley. We will be throwing around and scrimmaging and everyone who plans on playing Jv, Girls or Boys varsity should show up but it is fine if you can't make it.

We know that not everyone has checked the blog the past couple of months so after reading this post, spread the word to anyone you know who plays or is interested in playing. Can't wait to play some ultimate Saturday, see you there.

YCC volunteers needed!

The 2010 USA Ultimate Youth Club Championships are in Blaine at the National Sports Center this weekend. The Minnesota High School Ultimate League is serving as the local organizer and they need some volunteer help.

The tournament itself is August 14th & 15th and help is needed then as well as the evening of Friday the 13th. The National Sports Center will be handling water, trash and recycling, so volunteer duties are very light and enjoyable: player food preparation, score-keeping (watching some talented kids play some high quality ultimate), setup and breakdown.

If you can volunteer for the whole weekend, great. One day? Fine. Half a day? OK. Just Friday? We need people then. Please go to the Minnesota High School Ultimate Volunteering

Page and sign up. Besides helping some kids to have a great ultimate experience,
you'll get to see some great ultimate and you'll also get some volunteer
souvenirs. We'll have shirts and discs and refreshments. If you work a
full day, we'll get you lunch, too.
