Fall Registration Meeting

FALL 2013/2014 REGISTRATION MEETING
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18
7:00 pm 

The fall season is here!

  We will be holding our fall registration meeting on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at 7:00 pm in room W230 at Hopkins High School.
This meeting is for any/all players and at least 1 parent who are interested in playing on any of the HUrt teams.  Whether your a  new player or a veteran of the Hopkins ultimate frisbee family, our fall meeting is full of important information.   We will cover registration, the  fall schedule,  practice's,  games,  tournaments, seasons, rules and regulations.

We will have all the paperwork, necessary to participate with Hopkins Ultimate Frisbee, available also.
 Erin Mirocha, our head coach,  myself, and several captains and coaches, will be available to answer questions.
 Dates/times for practices are already on the blog.  Fall tournaments will be posted soon!

The blog is your source of information for all things Hopkins Ultimate.

Please make it a priority to attend this meeting if your interested in playing ultimate frisbee with HUrt during the upcoming school year.  Every child should  have a parent with them at this meeting.

I'm  looking  forward to meeting  new players and excited to see familiar faces from previous years.

CAR WASH UPDATE

THE CAR WASH IS ON!
New start time is 10:45 A.M.
End time is 3:00 P.M.

Cub Foods parking lot at Hwy 7 and Hwy 101.

There is not a cap on how many players participate.
The girls team is ready to work.  They've made the signs to bring in the business.
We could use some more guys to balance the scales....
If you've got some time come out and help!  Bring some sponges and towels.
Tell your friends and neighbors to support Hopkins Ultimate by getting their car washed!

Captains Practice

Next Captains Practice 

The next captains practice is this Thursday the 29th at Lions Park. Captains will start at 4:30 and go until 6:30. Bring anyone you know that goes to Hopkins and is interested in playing ultimate frisbee. Hope to see everyone there!

Todays Captains practice at 4:30 will be canceled due to the heat, we do not want to risk anyone getting hurt.
Please spread the word to let parents and players know that is it canceled.

CAR WASH FUNDRAISER

Remember the car wash fundraiser we had to cancel because of SNOW!?!
We have another opportunity to try again.  And this time the forecast is SUNNY and HOT!  This is a fantastic, fun way to fundraise for HUrt. But before we lock in the date, we need a solid commitment from players and a few parents.   Ideally we would like to have 10 players and 1-2 parents per shift. 

 When we hit the magic numbers we will lock in the date.

 To keep our expenses to a minimum, supplies such as:  buckets, sponges, towels, chamois, brushes, hoses etc...will need to come from YOU, the player.

Next 2 Captain's Practices

We had a great turn out on tuesday at our first captains practice! Our next 2 practices are Thursday the 22nd from 4:30-6:30 at Lions Park, and  the one after that will be on Sunday the 25h from 4:30-6:30 at Lions Park as well. Be sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a black shirt, white shirt, cleats, and disc if you have one. We hope to see everyone there!

I hope everyone has had a great summer and played a lot of ultimate! Captains practices will begin Tuesday August 20th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm! Bring anyone from Hopkins you think would be interested in playing ultimate this year. Don't forget to bring a water bottle and a light and dark shirt! Camp opportunity August 12th

USAU is hosting a one day camp with Coaches Kyle Weisbrod & Chase Sparling-Beckley (from the U20 US National Team) on Monday, August 12^th.

Boys and Girls age 13-18 are encouraged to attend.  Location: National Sports Center, Blaine, MN.

GV ultimate camp

Attention all Hopkins Hurt players 16 and under. Golden Valley Park & Rec hosts an ultimate camp that starts next Monday the 5th and ends on the 9th from 9 am to 3 pm at lions park. The camp is run by 4 Hopkins Hurt alumni. If you are interested visit the Golden Valley Park & Rec website to sign up.
