We're Done With Outdoor Practice

Yeah, it's been pretty... Toasty Warm out there, so we're calling a halt to outdoor practices. Thanks to all of you who have been dedicated enough to keep improving your game through this last month. The lights at Maetzold were pretty CUT UP, so thanks to the City of Hopkins and Ron Curme for hooking us up with them.

Indoor practice time is slowly being scheduled (honestly, we coaches are dragging our feet a little, and the local "Powers That Be" aren't especially helpful either). Keep an eye out on the blog for updates and keep your eyes peeled for possible practice spaces as well.

Last Outdoor JV Practice Today!

It's darn cold, but that doesn't keep us from our duty. Dress really warm today, that means many layers. Bring your long Johns and wear an extra pair of socks (wool if you got 'em). If you have 2 poly longsleeve shirts, wear both.

Help Organize "The Hustle"

The first organizational meeting for the Hopkins Hustle, to be held May 3-4 2008 will be hosted by Laurie Levin at her house Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7pm. We are looking for volunteers to help us with numerous activities including merchandising, event planning, day-of activities, food & drinks, and more!

Please come, willing to help and volunteer to make this tourney a success.

Varsity Team Meeting

We will hold our first Varsity team meeting at the Arenson's house on Monday, Nov. 12 at 6pm.

This will be a potluck dinner, so please go into the comments section to see what you are expected to provide for your team. Please plan on at least 6-8 servings with each item you bring.

Notes:
1. This is a semi-kosher house, so dairy is OK, meat is not. Vegetarian options only, please.

2. Please bring your own cup. No soda will be provided (you don't need that stuff anyways).

3. Plan: Dinner: 6:15, Meeting 7:00 - 9:00

4. Practice is optional on Monday for the Varsity boys members. Homework, 1st priority, Meeting 2nd priority, Practice 3rd.

LADIES!! Re: Women's Ultimate

the upa is in the final push of its strategic planning process. right now it has a membership survey up on the upa.org website that will gauge members' opinions on all sorts of things - series restructure,observers, league organization - but the important thing for all of us is women's participation in ultimate and how to improve it and increase it.
this is a super important survey for how it will direct the upa's strategic plan, and right now only 18% of respondents play in the women's division... but the decisions that are made based on the results will affect us just as much as anybody! so if you haven't filled out the survey, please do. it takes about 40minutes, but you can make it shorter by choosing to skip questions that don't interest/pertain to you.

Ladies Practice: Thursday

We will be starting practice (this Thursday only) at 3:30p and going until 5:30p. Practice is at Maetzold, but Varsity boys are scrimmaging a team, so we are going early to utilize the field. If you want to stay after and watch the boyz, make sure to dress for it. It's toasty warm!!

LOCATION CHANGE FOR PRACTICES

All practices (ladies, JV, Varsity, and Mixed) will now be held at Maetzold Park in downtown Hopkins until otherwise notified. The park is located on 1st Street North and 14th Avenue. Practice times will remain set as usual (see calender).

Realize that this list can change, players can move from the Varsity to the JV and vice versa at any time.
