Again, just a note to let everyone that these decisions were really hard, especially because everyone really stepped up with the Cub shifts and their communication about practice etc. Thank you for understanding.

Sara needs your birthdate and passport number in an email to her (semekler@gmail.com) by October 10th. Please send your HBTS fee to her house (address in the sidebar) as soon as possible. If you can no longer go, please notify me immediately so I can notify our alternate.

Girls Get Together!

Hey, Hert Ladies!

We are going to have a girls get together this Sunday, September 25th at Shoshana's house. We are going to be going over general questions about Ultimate, and how this year will go with the captains and coaches! We'll have some food and snacks for you girls, too! Please bring your friends, this will be a fun time to hang out with your future teammates and see what the year is going to look like.

Varsity Workouts

-- Starting tomorrow we will be having Varsity work outs after school in the Lindbergh center. These are a requirement for any returning varsity players as well as any one trying out for the team. We will be having them every week on mondays and wednesdays, they will start at 3,so please be a few minutes early.

Details:
Player Cost $185
Estimated Departure time: 11:30am - 12:00pm October 14th
Estimated Return time: Midnight October 16th

In order to post in the comments below you must:
Have a valid passport
Have your parents' permission
Have worked a cub foods shift or contacted Sara for an alternative
Include your name and your grade

Please remember that posting in the comments does not mean that you will definitely be going to the tournament. Only 36 players total can attend, so coaches will be using various criteria to finalize the rosters. Practice attendance, communication, fundraising and (if necessary) school year will affect who can go.

All decisions will be made on September 26th, so posts made after Sunday September 25th will not be considered.

Parents - we'd love to have you! Hotel rooms are $115 per night, and bus transportation is $70 for parents (but may change depending on how many parents can go).

Toasty Warm

Hurtems,

A quick reminder about "toasty warm" - it is every Hurtem and Hertet's responsibility to be prepared for any weather situation. You should have appropriate layers in your bag at all times. Better to have too many layers and not use them then to shiver through a practice.

This week is the first of many chilly ones - so please bring the right gear. If you (or your parent) are unsure about what to bring to practice, please take the time to ask a captain or a coach.

We have the field at 6pm tonight. While you put your shoes on and start warming up, please be respectful of other athletes who may be using this field before we do.

Board positions/Board meeting/

Parents, just a reminder that we still have a few positions left on the Board; as we announced at the meeting last night we still need a team parent for both the Varsity and JV teams, as well as a Board secretary. We can always use parent's help for small projects as well, and don't forget the final weeks of our Cub fundraiser! We will be working on some new fundraising initiatives in the next few weeks, and will keep you informed.

Fall Registration Meeting

Tuesday, September 13th, 7:00
Hopkins High School, room W230

Players and parents, this is the official beginning of our season! It's very important for parents to attend this meeting with their player as we will be explaining plans for the season, hearing from our coaching staff, and discussing upcoming tournaments.

Registration will also take place, with all forms available at the meeting. Forms will also be available this weekend on the blog for you to print and bring with you if you'd like.

Registration information-forms

There have been some questions regarding registration forms. The link that had been up was for last season's forms. I apologize; I didn't realize it was being used. I will try to upload all 2011-12 season forms in the next day or two. All forms will be available at our registration meeting, which will be announced later today...I'm sorry for the delay, but we had a glitch with the high school scheduler. Once we get a confirmation I will post information.

Do not bring any forms or money with you to practice tonight! If you have any, they are outdated!

Hopkins Ultimate Board position openings

Parents, as we prepare for our upcoming season we are still in need of some volunteers. This organization can't run without parent participation. There's a variety of options available from team parent, to secretary to special projects. Whether you have a lot or a little bit of time to spare, we can find something perfect for you! Location Change for Practice 9/8

Hi all,

We're changing the location of practice tomorrow to Burnes Park (soccer at Lions, sigh).

Same time - 5:30pm - 8:00

Bring the normal gear, warm up starts with your captains at 5:30. Bring a friend.

Cub Foods Fundraiser

We are still in need of at least one more person to work at Cub tomorrow afternoon! The shift is from 2-6, but if someone wants to come after school that would work too. You could even leave at 5:15 to go to practice!

Remember, this fundraiser helps everyone on the team, so everyone on the team needs to help at the fundraiser!
