EXIT 69 TOURNAMENT

Upperclassmen may sign up for this coming weekend's tournament with the link below. Please look at the sign up carefully as you must sign up on each day if you're planning on being there for the whole tournament.  The players plan their own carpools, but if parents are planning on attending and driving, you may post the number of players you can accomadate if you are interested in offering a ride to anyone else.

Per our team policy, players are allowed to drive themselves to this tournament because it is just under the 50 mile limit we have set as a boundary. As always, it's then up to parents to decide if they want their player to drive/ride with players, or if they prefer to drive. We always ask that only our oldest players drive when possible, and obviously, they may only transport as many players as they have seatbelts for. The kids usually will all contribute a few dollars to the driver for gas, or buy them lunch...whatever they want to work out :-)

A few reminders:

1) Registration for Hopkins Ultimate is due. If I don't have a medical waiver for you on file, you will not be allowed to practice starting Tonight (10/6)

2) If you are attending HBTS, Sara needs your birthdate and passport number in an email to her (semekler@gmail.com) by October 10th. Please send your HBTS fee to her house (address in the sidebar) as soon as possible.

3) This weekend is Exit 69, a Varsity tryout tournament. Carpool details will be posted shortly. We have a very small squad on Saturday (if you are in 10th-12th grade and you can attend on Saturday, please let me know) - but our full squad on Sunday would love some spectators!

4) We may have found a field with lights! Stay tuned for a location change for next week.

Exit 69 Tournament

Please remember that if you are signing up to play this weekend at Exit 69, you must be a registered member of our team! There are some people who have posted that they are attending who have not yet sent in their forms and check. You can find all the forms in the registration post(linked on the right) Bring your completed forms and check with you to practice tonight.

Tuesday Practice & Exit 69

Practice tonight is at 6pm at Lindbergh #1. Daylight is limited, so please be ready to warm up at 6.

For boys 9th grade and up, we will be planning for the Varsity Tryout Tournament this weekend, October 2-3, in Northfield, MN. If you have a conflict this weekend, you need to tell me at practice tonight.

Boys, please be at the back Lindbergh parking lot at 7:00 AM with $20 (cash or check to "Hopkins Ultimate"). Your captains will be collecting $$ before we leave. Please review former posts for what to bring, and dress for the weather. Our last game ends at 5, so we should be back at Lindbergh no later than 6:30, unless your car decides to stop for food, etc.

Tom and I will meet you guys at the fields for the captains' meeting at 8:15 AM.

You may need to scroll over to find Hopkins. The boys are team F1, with games at 9, 10:15, 11:30, 12:45, and 3:30. Last game ends at 5 PM.

The girls have a first round bye, and have games at 10:45, 12:30, 2:15, and 4:00 PM. Last game ends at 5:30 PM.

Exit 69 - This Weekend!!

Hello Teams -

The boys and girls teams will be playing in "Exit 69," a tournament hosted by St. Olaf College this weekend in Northfield, MN. Games are played both Saturday 10/3 and Sunday 10/4.

Players will be meeting at 7:00 AM both Saturday and Sunday at the Lindbergh parking lot and carpooling to Northfield. Parents are welcome to attend!

[[UPDATE]] Boys, this is a varsity level tournament and we will be bringing a limited number of players. We'll choose the roster based on seniority and experience. If you are interested in attending this tournament, please post in the comment section or talk to your captains at school. We'll post a final roster later this week. Girls have been commenting in another post about their availability.

Things to bring to this tournament:
- a WHITE (not gray) shirt
- a BLACK (or dark) shirt
- athletic shorts and socks
- cleats
- a disc, if you have one
- a water bottle (or two)
- sunblock and a hat
- rain and cold gear (who knows what the weather will be like?)

Northfield is less than an hour away, right off Exit 69 (hence the tourney name!) on I-35 south of the Cities. Upperclassmen, please post in the comments if you are able to drive. Also, parents, if you plan to attend the whole day and would be willing to drive some players, please also post in the comments. Gas costs will be the individual responsibility of each car and split amongst those in the car.

The per player cost for this tournament (covering the tourney entry fee and coaching stipends/costs) is $20 per player. Please bring this to practice on Thursday, or with you on Saturday morning. Checks can be made out to "Hopkins Ultimate." Please pay before we leave on Saturday or you will not be able to attend. Questions or concerns please contact Sheri at slbrenden@comcast.net. Some food and water will be provided by the tournament, but please bring some snacks of your own or money to buy food if you so choose.

Expect games to start at 9 AM and play to complete around 5 or 6 PM on both days. I have not been given an exact schedule yet, but I will post that as soon as I receive it.

We are NOT staying in Northfield, but will be returning to Lindbergh on Saturday night.

Fellas, please be advised that this tournament is being considered a varsity tryout tournament by the coaches, and we will be playing against college and adult competition.
