YCC Volunteers Necessary!

Here's a message from Jeff Hagen of the MNHSUL about YCC. Parents, if you are going to be watching your son/daughter at YCC (or even if you're not), please consider volunteering. Kids, if you're not playing YCC, you can help out too!

Dear local Ultimate enthusiast-
Will you donate a few hours of your time for youth Ultimate?
The 2009 UPA Youth Club Championships are being held at the National Sports Center in Blaine on August 8th and 9th, and we need volunteers.
Volunteers are the backbone of successful UPA championship events, and you can be a part of the future of Ultimate at the Youth Club Championships. Whether you want to dive in and immerse yourself in the event for days, or just help out a little in between watching some great action, we can find something perfect for you. From scorekeeping to setting up fields, from helping keep the players hydrated to helping keep the site clean, there are lots of opportunities to contribute.

Potential Car Wash

We have a slot at Cub Foods on 101 from 10-4 on August 8th for a car wash fundraiser.

However, a lot of our players have the Youth Club Championship (YCC) tournament that weekend and won't be able to make it. We want to know if there are enough players not playing in that tournament that would be able to help out that day.

Congrats to All Teams on a Successful Season!

Congrats to all teams on a successful season! The girls' placed 5th at State, the Boys' JV won a few games this weekend , and the Boys' Varsity completed an undefeated high school season by winning the MN State Championship!

Thanks again to all parents, coaches, and fans for supporting our teams this weekend at State and all throughout the year. Have a great summer!

Players, if you are not going away to camp, I would highly recommend signing up for the MN Youth Summer League. The cost is $15, and the first 100 players to sign up get a disc included with their registration at no extra cost!

State Tournament - Sunday's games delayed

Sunday's first round games for the Varsity have been delayed 90 minutes. The Varsity boys will be meeting at Lindbergh at 8:45 a.m. to carpool to the fields.

It's unclear how this affects the JV at this point. Please check back on this blog later tonight to see if there is an update.

The state tourney is held at the Twin City Polo Club, the same location as the Hopkins Hustle.

Girls practice this week

Ladies,

We have practice tonight at Lindbergh at 6pm. We will either be on field #3 or #10. It is not required, but if you would like to run a sprint workout beforehand, Erin will be there doing it around 5 and you can join in the fun. EVERYONE must be at practice tonight - if you cannot make it, please let Heather know ASAP. Even if you told us at the banquet, please remind me of your conflict today. If you cannot make it to practice and you are not doing something active that day, please take responsibility and run or bike or throw or whatever else helps keep you active.

On Wednesday or Thursday the captains will be running practice - they will post the time and date soon!

Plan on arriving in Maple Plain sometime between 6 or 7 on Friday. Jeanine will post more details soon!

Hey girls we don't have a game next Tuesday (5/26), so we have a scrimmage set up with Eden Prairie at the usual game time (6:00) at the EP fields.
