Upcoming hat tournaments

Hey, there will be two hat tournaments coming up in the next month.

The first is the Eden Praire Hat tourney. I have done this the last two years and I had a ton of fun. It is all high school kids.

here is the info, make sure to fill out the registration form also available at http://www.google.com/base/a/1240635/D7724816351226402552:

The second is the Winter Carnival Hat tourney

here is some info from the organizer:

"I just wanted to give you a heads up to an awesome Hat Tournament January 27 - 28.
We held it last year with sponsorship and had a blast!!! We were able to hand out prize money to 3 places, gave everyone a shirt, a special "winter use only disc" from Dare Devil and tons of sponsorship swag and coupons.

Oh yeah, we played some fun Ultimate at 20 degrees. The Disc Golfers have been holding their "Ice Bowl" event for years so I figured that if D Golfers can throw in the winter so can Ultimate players.
Jose was kind enough to do some picture taking last year and he still has the pics up check them out. Ultimate pics start at #58 for those who do not want to see the Golfers.

http://public.fotki.com/jahernan/sports/ultimate_frisbee/winter_carnival/"

That was a lot of fun and I got a ton of free stuff. I'll provide more info as we get closer.

Grey Duck Jerseys

Some of you have expressed interest in obtaining a U of MN Grey Duck jersey. They are printing this season's jerseys very soon. If you want one, email hotlou@gmail.com this week. The cost is currently $40, but I am in negotiations for a discount for all Hopkins players.

HERt FORCE Girls

WHAT: girly hang-out time,
possible caffeine or sugar rush
WHEN: Thursday 14 Dec from 7-8:30pm-ish
WHERE: Munkabeans at Mainstreet Hopkins

HERt FORCE Girls

For the record, there is now practice on Sunday evenings from 7-9p at Hopkins West JH in the Structure. Thanks to the three of you who made it to practice last night and to the one who called to say she couldn't make it. I appreciate you!
Indoor practice maintains that you still bring a disc, water, and wear athletic clothing. Your shoes should be gym shoes, though.

If you haven't heard, we will not be going to Duluth during MLK weekend - the date has been changed to 24-25 February. So keep that weekend open; it would be nice to bring two teams! And no word yet on the St. Ben's tournament, although the rumor has it that it will be scheduled for March.

And we still don't have any indoor space scheduled for the middle of the week; but Ron is working on it! You can do your part by doing plyometrics, going for a run, etc. to stay in Ultimate shape. If you want more info about that, call your captains or coaches.

Stay toasty warm, folks!
Kelley

Throwing Practice

I didn't post it in the last topic but I thought I'd let you know that the throwing practice is from 7pm to 9m.

You can also always see the upcoming events on the calendar page or upcoming events bar to your right.

Practice Canceled but Throwing Planned

Practice for today (December 2) is canceled. Sorry for the late notice. It is 10 degrees with 15 mph winds. But don't worry...

This sunday Dec. 3, 2006 there will be throwing practice at the Hopkins West Junior High structure. Everyone is invited as long as they bring a disc with them. We have a good size ammount of indoor space and we want to use it to work on throwing.

Sorry about today but I'll see everyone on Sunday.
