2. Tell your teammates to notify Lou and Jake.

Paideia is less than 10 weeks away. We're flying to Atlanta for the tournament on Friday, April 13th in the late afternoon and will stay with the Paideia players' families. We'll fly back after games on Sunday, April 15. This trip will cost up to $400 per player, including airfare. We need to know ASAP who on the Varsity Boys Team is going. We don't have time for maybes, we must find out definitively yes or no, are you coming? All Varsity Boys are invited to this tournament. Please don't forget that an additional trip to Nationals costing another roughly $400 will be happening in May. Doc Schock has written more information below.

Start your to do list right now. Not in 5 minutes. RIGHT NOW.

Update on Paideia Tournament

Men and Women players,

Congratulations on earning bids to Paideia. We will a keep you all up to date on transportation planning and information at this website. Thanks to Ann Shaw for her work on getting the plane to take us to WARM Atlanta. Now for the details.

Coaches will publish a full list of players eligible to play. Both teams will fly together from MPLS to Atlanta leaving here at 4:50 PM on Friday and returning late Sunday night (12:38 am). The flight is with AirTran and is non-stop to Atlanta. We will rent vans at the airport and players and coaches will billet Friday and Saturday night with Paideia families. Parents will rent at a hotel near by. The full cost including flight, ground transport, tournament fees will be approximately $375.00. The final cost is hard to estimate as yet, but we will keep you all up to date on the final bill.

Players, your job is to get a full and unequivocal 'Yes' from your parents as soon as possible, we'll have less than 2 weeks to insert your names into the group reservation. Ann has reserved 36 spots -- we can decrease that number, but if we increase it the extra spots are not guaranteed for the same price.

Players ask your parents if they would like to come and see two of the best teams in the country take on the East coast players. Parents' costs will be the plane fare $240.00, plus food, ground transportation and hotel.
Have interested parents call Ann Shaw or Mike Schock for details.

For those MapQuest fans, Paideia School is just outside Atlanta, about 15 miles from the airport.

Indoor Tournament Saturday

We have a tournament at the Midtown Y [MAP] in Minneapolis on Saturday. We have games at the following times:

9:00 AM
11:00 AM
1:00 PM
4:00 PM

Have your shoes on ready for a warm up jog at 8:30 AM. Depending on how we do, we'll have more games after that. If we do well, the latest game will finish at 11:00 PM.

Because the tournament is coed and at most 3 boys will be on the field at any time, we're limiting the boys roster to the following boys:

Seniors:
Brian "Deuce" Wilson
Capt. Carl "Crazy Hot" Peaslee
Andrew "RZR" Kelley
Jovan "Tauntaun" Thompson (r)
David "Can-Swillas" Canillas (r)
Zach "Talter" Alter
Stephen "Rubeans" Rubinyi

Juniors:
Capt. Greg "Garenson" Arenson
Sam "Brick" Brickwedde

Sophomores:
Robbie "Shaps" Shapiro
Asa Gottlieb (r)
John "Smalter" Alter (r)

You might wonder why those 3 sophomore names appear at the end. Bottom line, they exhibited characteristics of a good teammate on Wednesday night.

Those on the list should email coach Lou [hotlou@gmail.com] to confirm their invitation. Those not on the list are encouraged to come support their teammates.

What to bring: water bottle, shoes, shorts, jerseys (black, gold, white), discs (to throw and to sell), snacks, money (for lunch), and a strong desire to let Lou make you better at ultimate.

Hydrating right now matters. Drink some water after reading this post. Then read it again and have another glass of water.

See you Saturday.
