UPA #s - Know yours now

When the executive committee and coaches make rosters for official UPA events, we need to use your UPA #. For some of you, especially if you are new this year, we don't yet have that information. If you are asked for your UPA # for rostering, please respond quickly. If we don't have it, you may not be able to participate. If you are a UPA member but don't know your #, there are two options: 1) Look at your UPA membership card that was mailed to you, 2) go to www.upa.org, click on the "Member Login" link on the left-side menu, scroll down, and click on the "Membership Information" link on the left box. You should be able to find it from here.

Thanks, Team
Coach Russ

MNHS Ultimate Spring League

We covered this info at the parent-player meeting on the 18th of March, so if you're all good with Hopkins Ultimate, the UPA, and have your $30 check to Hopkins Ultimate for the spring league, you should be set up. If you don't know what's going on, go to www.mnhsultimate.org and click on the "player's checklist" link on the left, under "season information." This Player's checklist is not an official form, but if you fill it out, print it out, and give it to a coach with your $30 check, you should be good to go. This needs to happen soon. We can add people later in the season as long as we register a team of 10 by next friday, but wouldn't you rather play all the games?

Spring Break Practices

If you're going to be around next week, Coaches will be at Burnes Park on Wednesday at 4pm and at Maetzold park on Thursday at 4pm for scrimmages and some drills.

If you think you can get there, drop a line in the comments section of this. I'll try to get some of our friends to come out to play, teach, learn, and just help out.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Varsity Practice (Wednesday)

Due to some wonderful weather and some much needed breaks from studying for all y'all's AP finals, the coaches would like to invite varsity players to play some REAL Ultimate at Burnes Park at 4pm on Wednesday.

ps. this is also a practice, but expect to play some 7on7 as well.

pps. there will be a pulling clinic for you by Greg Williams, so if you plan on being the big dog to start the game, be sure to be there and get some tips from a LEGENDARY puller.

St. Ben's High School Tournament

The parents and fans were treated to a full day of high quality Ultimate. HERt players started out slow, but by the midpoint in the first game, they were playing fast and catching almost anything within reach. By the end of the day, HERt owned the field house with an undefeated record for the day. Great Job Girls. To see a few photos set your browser to:

Update on Nationals Tell your Parents Tonight

Players going to Nationals:
We have a change in airline ticket arrangements. In order to buy a lower fare, we now have to book and pay all tickets by Thursday. This means that you will need to deliver a check for 270.00$ to Mike Schock or Ann Shaw or Ivan Arenson by Thursday in order to keep your seats. Please show this to your parents and discuss the details with them. If you are still coming to Nationals, have a check written to Hopkins Ultimate for $270.00 to us by Thursday.
If you miss the deadline you may need to make your own arrangements for transportation to Burlington, WA. Also, we have reserved only 40 seats so the first 40 coaches and players and parents to pay will be given seats.
We travel on Friday leaving Minneapolis at 2:30 pm flight # 807. We return Monday early am. Our flight leaves SeaTac at 12:50 AM and arrives at 5:54 AM monday. Flight # 154. Savings will amount to $55.00. Also, if you intend to leave for Seattle on a different flight or return to Minneapolis on a different flight, please make those arrangements on your own. You will also be responsible for transportation from SeaTac to Burlington (90 miles north of Seattle).

St. Benedict's HertForce Tournament

Hi All you HertForce gals. Here is the scoop on the St. Benedict's Tournament on March 24, 2007 (Saturday). It is a one day only tournament of competition against other highschool women's teams. The cost to each team member for participation in this tournament is $15.00 which will cover the cost of gas for the drivers and the tournament fees. You may also wish to bring $$ for dinner if we have a chance to go out. However, included in the tournament fees are some (?quality) food item available to team members. We will meet at the parking lot north of the Lindbergh Center at around 11:45 am and will leave for St. Benedicts at noon. This will allow about an hour's worth of warm up time before the tourney starts. The Tournament goes from 2:30 pm until 10:00 pm. Teamates will return home in cars driven by parent drivers. It is dark, the players will be tired and I94 can be a dangerous drive under certain weather conditions. Expect to be dropped off at your home around midnight.

HEY LADIES!!!

Madison Mudbath is closer than you think! We need to find out how many of you can come, so please talk with your parents ASAP and get back to Curme on whether you can go. Here's the info... We will be leaving Friday, April 20 in the early afternoon and coming back late Sunday night.
The cost is $35 (that's $20 for the tournament, $10 for gas and$5 for a host gift), and bring extra money for food, etc. We are staying with the Boyd's again this year. If you haven't traveled to Madison with us before, they're a really nice family we stay with and they make BOMB breakfast muffins. If your parents want the Boyd's address and phone number, they can call Mike Schock. This will be an amazing tournament and it's important for us to get as much time playing together as we can before natties. I really hope you can all go, and are all excited to dominate against some bomb teams. Please check with your parents and contact Curmish when you know, or if you have questions. Curmish's contact info is: Emructhree@yahoo.com, cell phone 952380 6128
